Cellphone Apps Challenge the Rise of E-Readers

Cellphone Apps Challenge the Rise of E-Readers

The IPhone now has an app for the Kindle ebook reader. Smart phone owners can now download this free app instead of buying the Kindle device for $250 or $350.

I just downloaded this app on my iphone last week. I thought it was too good to be true. I havent downloaded any ebooks on it yet because I havent had much time to explore it. Now that I have read this article I'm happy that I have this app. I plan on taking advantage of this feature and not having to pay for a ebook reader.

  1. This is crazy to me! They are offering than application for free, in place of $ 350. If I has an iphone this is something I would take aadvantage of!

  2. That's a pretty big blow to E-Readers, I wonder if they're going to try and make them cancel the app or something. Not everybody has that kind of phone though so I don't think they will.

  3. Oh wow! How will the E-Reader recover from that? That sounds like an awesome idea, but harsh to those who provided us with the E-Reader in the first place. I don't have an iPhone so if I want an E-Reader, I'll have to buy it. XD

  4. Well the iPhone should benefit greatly from being able to offer a free service that would cost upwards of $250 without the phone. That alone is good incentive to buy an iPhone, along with its other benefits.

  5. Anything that you can get for free these days is great, especially knowing the fact that the e-reader costs up to $350. It will be interesting to see what happens to the kindle device.
